Mail Merge, popular? Maybe among the oldies or by those that work in jobs that require mail merge, but do you, as a curious "netizen" know what it is? By the Way, this isn't actual physical mail we're talking about like the one below, but computer mail.

Mail merge, according to the google dictionary is the "automatic addition of names and addresses from a database to
letters and envelopes in order to facilitate sending mail, especially
advertising, to many addresses."In other words, it automatically puts the same data into many letters that are supposed to be sent to many addresses. It makes your life way easier in terms of managing your time because there's less work done.
What have i learned from mail merge? That there's a way to make your sending letters more convenient. Example, you want to send 50 letters to 50 different places with different receivers, would you want to input each name, and address? Well mail merge has your back.
Specific things I've learned from it aside from the fact that its convenient in terms of lessening your work, it is that you can include only information you want. No other information can be added into the letter sent aside form the ones that you inserted in the mailings tab in the process of mail merging. You only put the information you need.
Just to clarify any confusions, mail merge is not merging of information or data like the picture below in the form of merging color, it is a tool.

Another thing I learned is that I have to know what I am inputting. You have to keep track of all the recipients and the information that has to come with them. If not, you may have an output of information that contradicts with each other. An example of this maybe a name with the wrong address. You don't want to embarrass yourself right?
Mail Merge is important because it can help you input data when it is sent to many people. It can make changes of information easier. It makes life more convenient in a way that you don't have to use more energy into inputting data one by one. Mail merge can do it for you, it will input the information for you depending on the data you put.
